  4. This code was developed for inclusion in the book "Running LANtastic", 
  5. by Adrian King, published by Bantam Books, October 1991.

  8.         LICENSE AGREEMENT AND DISCLAIMERS

  10. Carefully read all of the terms and conditions of this license
  11. agreement before using this software. By using this Software, you
  12. indicate your complete and unconditional acceptance of these terms
  13. and conditions. This document is a legal agreement between you, the
  14. user ("LICENSEE"), and Adrian King and Bantam Books ("LICENSOR").
  15. This agreement constitutes the complete agreement between you and
  16. the LICENSOR.

  18. LICENSOR grants LICENSEE a non-exclusive license to use this Software
  19. in accordance with the following terms and conditions:

  21. LICENSOR retains title to the Software, all copies thereof, and all
  22. proprietary rights of all kind therein, including without limitation,
  23. copyrights and trade secrets. No ownership interest in the Software is
  24. transferred by this Agreement. Accordingly, LICENSEE shall, by virtue
  25. of this Agreement, only obtain a license to use the Software subject 
  26. to all of the terms and conditions hereof. LICENSEE shall not loan,
  27. transfer, encumber, sell, or otherwise dispose of any Software furnished
  28. hereunder without LICENSOR's prior written permission. Any attempt to do
  29. so shall be invalid. Both the license and your right to use the Software
  30. terminate automatically if you violate any part of this Agreement.

  32. LICENSOR reserves the right to alter the Software at any time, and any
  33. reliance on the Software is at LICENSEE's own risk. LICENSEE understands
  34. that the Software is experimental and that LICENSOR does not warrant the
  35. performance of the Software in any way. All warranties, expressed or
  36. implied, including any warranties of merchantability or fitness for a 
  37. aprticular purpose are expressly disclaimed. LICENSEE accepts the
  38. Software "as is", and owing to its experimental nature, LICENSEE is 
  39. warned not to rely on the Software for any reason.

  41. LICENSOR shall not, under any circumstances be liable to LICENSEE for
  42. consequential, incidental, special or exemplary damages arising out of
  43. or related to the transactions contemplated hereunder, even if LICENSOR
  44. is apprised of the likelihood of such damages occurring.

  73. Note that the TesSeRact libraries are NOT included with this source
  74. distribution due to the conditions of the TesSeRact software license.
  75. The executable form of the example programs (LAN.EXE and LANRES.EXE)
  76. do incorporate the TesSeRact library within the executables. Thus, you
  77. can run these programs but you cannot rebuild them from source unless
  78. you acquire a copy of the TesSeRact libraries. Information on how to
  79. do this is included within the "Running LANtastic" book. If you have 
  80. access to CompuServe, then the TesSeRact library is available from the
  81. Innovative Data library within CompuServe's PCVENC forum.

  84. directories by running the INSTALL.BAT command:

  100.         (BNOSLIB.LIB is the version for the Borland C++ 2.0 compiler,

  104.         Updated version of Appendix B of "Running LANtastic" with
  105.         bug fixes and additional information included after 
  106.         publication of the book. This file is stored as a Microsoft 
  107.         Word for Windows document (NOSREF.DOC).

  109. The software included in this distribution is not supported by anyone.
  110. In particular, it is not supported by Artisoft. The author welcomes 
  111. any comments or bug reports via electronic mail but makes no guarantee
  112. that anything will be done about them.
